I’m Carl and I like to play, talk about, and think about TTRPGs and related geekery. I hope you find something here that inspires you to do the same.

I intend everything I post here to be positive and hopefully helpful. If I don’t like something I’ll not talk about it. This hobby is about joy and spending time with our friends, not trashing other people’s preferences.

A lot of this will be play reports from the games I run. They will be rough and serve primarily to document events in the game for the reference of my players and myself. As such they are not really written to entertain and probably contain various and potentially numerous typos and grammatical errors. You’ve been warned.

I do intend to write occasionally about how I run my games and campaigns. I like to tinker, kitbash systems, and house-rule, so if you’re a “rules as written” person you may find my methods silly and offensive. You’ve been warned again.

Update February 2026: I recently started a new campaign using the Dolmenwood RPG by Gavin Norman/Necrotic Gnome and combining the setting with Times that Fry Men’s Souls by Sean McAnally for a weird, inter-dimensional, fey invaded, colonial New York.
